How to make a Mustache on a Stick

[In 9 easy steps!]

Step 1: Get the following - Spray Paint, scissors, thick felt, hot glue gun, sticks, and poster board.


Step 2: Go outside with your poster board and spray paint your sticks. This step is totally optional, you can leave it the light wood looking color, but for my project I did Ivory. Its hard to see it in these pictures but, it does make a difference.


Step 3: Make sure to spray paint any attacking bugs until they can't see anymore. This will distract them enough not to sting you before you finish painting. [Note: your father may not be very excited about the ivory spray painted grass spot]


Step 4: Once the sticks have dried (or even while they are drying) take a piece of your felt and fold it in half. Then draw your mustache onto the felt. If you are good at drawing mustaches, do it free hand. If you are cheater like me - use a mustache template. The one I used is found here.


Step 5: Keep the felt folded and cut out your mustache. This way you will have two pieces of your mustache that are the exact same size.


Step 6: With your hot glue gun, glue the stick onto one of the pieces of the mustache. Keep in mind to have your sticks at an angle so that they are not right in the middle of your face later.


Step 7: Keep an eye out for distracting animals who only wish to destroy your mustaches with their sharp teeth!


Step 8: Carefully glue the other piece of your mustache to the stick and the piece of mustache. Hold around the edges if needed while drying. Within minutes your mustache will be ready. Make sure to test it out!


Step 9: If creating more than one mustache, make sure to try out different styles of mustaches. You might be surprised how good you look in all of them.
